Brian Donaldson, Sgt., 2nd BTN., Scots Guards (1998 - 2000) is a Scottish piper born in Fife, Scotland, currently residing in Delafield, Wisconsin. Brian is owner of Inveran Pipe Makers and was principal piping instructor at the Missouri Military Academy. Brian took over as Pipe-Major Director at the Virginia Military Institute on July 1st, 2022, becoming the second director of the program since its inception in 2000. Brian served 22 years in the Scots Guards, including spending time in both Northern Ireland and the Falklands. His piping career is extensive, having won nearly every prize there is to win at the top level, played with the Dysart and Dundonald Pipe Band in the 1970s, and having been both an instructor and the principal of the Army School of Piping, and Pipe Major of the 2nd Battalion Scots Guards.
